In My In-Person Workshops We Have a Ball!
They're held in Sequim, Washington, the sunshine belt of the northern Olympic Peninsula, due south of Vancouver Island, Canada. There's lots to do here for my students and for their non-painting partners. Golf, fishing, hiking, biking, beaches, mountains, and even trips to Victoria, BC. Sequim has the lowest rainfall of anywhere in Western Washington, a great area to visit and vacation. To be notified of future workshops, email me with your name and mailing address, I'll put you on my mailing list.

Some student comments from our classes:
"Sally Cays' workshop does so many things right, it's difficult to list them all."
"Liked the step-by-step format with time to practice."
"I appreciate the directions, and helping us, but you never painted on our paintings."
"This was my first watercolor class, so I needed to learn some basics. I liked the step-by-step demos, and the glazing practices were very helpful."
"The best part is that I no longer have to feel intimidated by watercolor."
"I enjoyed the whole workshop - it was a fun and educational experience. The glazing is exciting!"
ONLINE WORKSHOP(Portraits of Children)
It's online now and the students are having a great time. They've created a new color to work with, and learned techniques to create those warm shadows and soft highlights that characterize children's faces. Interactive chat and regular critiques and guidance via email have helped them produce a sample portrait, then portraits of children near and dear to them. This is an exciting way to learn watercolor portraits from your own home and in your own time.
Beginner at painting? No problem. You'll learn a step-by-step process to take you from blank piece of paper to finished painting (at least one) in the six week course; and advanced watercolorists enjoy learning and practicing the wet-in-wet and glazing techniques I use. The course includes information on choosing subjects, photographing, composition, and lots of practice using the methods which lead to hard and soft edged, intensely colored realistic watercolor paintings.
Cost: $60.00 total
